Tasks
To ensure the availability of all plants and machinery, the supply and disposal of utilities and to maintain the entire infrastructure at "Industriepark Bobingen" (near Augsburg) for four chemical fiber manufacturers, i.e. Trevira GmbH, Invista GmbH & Co. KG, Johns Manville GmbH and Teijin Monofilament Germany GmbH.

Preparation
To guarantee a fully functional infrastructure at "Industriepark Bobingen", in the year 1999 responsibility for all infrastructure services was turned over to ABB Service GmbH Bobingen, which was founded solely for this purpose. ABB hired 180 employees from the former Hoechst plant. As part of the takeover agreement, the company also took over responsibility for all maintenance and manufacturing tasks as well as the operation of systems for generating and distributing power. That same year ABB also introduced an integrated management system.

Contractor
ABB Service GmbH Bobing is a company with 186 employees and annual sales of some 27 million euros. It belongs to ABB Asea Brown Boveri Ltd., a group of companies in the energy and automation technology sector. ABB Service GmbH Bobingen provides services in the following areas: Production-facility maintenance, modification, expansion and optimization of plants and buildings, special machine and tool manufacturing, mechanical and electrical component manufacturing, project management and engineering, operating utility supply and disposal systems, managing energy supply contracts and education and training for these sectors.
