Delivery and annual recalibration of high performance thermographic camera system ThermaCAM S60 including Researcher™ Software Suite for maintenance of stationary plants and rolling equipment of London’s underground rail system.

Preliminary Events and Preparation
Technical defects may lead to large-scale encumbrance for commuters using London’s public transport, which services millions of passengers annually. To keep disruption low, improvement works can only be enacted by night or during a few weekends and public holidays. Recognizing damages at an early stage is therefore indispensable for Metronet, the subway operator: time permitted for maintenance and upgrading is marginal and penalties are always looming. Efficient employment of plants, equipment, and resources is therefore a must. Originally only used for detecting errors in the signal system, infrared cameras made by FLIR Systems are deployed today for a variety of underground applications and for condition monitoring of overground switching yard stations, operations reaching from dynamic inspection of infrastructure to testing of parts and components under laboratory conditions.
